“Acts of Care”

An exhibition presented by Counter Collective and Ruth’s Table that examines the practices of care that foster environments in which justice, change, and growth can blossom.

This video series serves an an everlasting extension of this incredible exhibition. The goal was to get more insight from artists and organizers to show how this show came to be, what the artist process was like in creating the work displayed, and what the theme meant to people. The goal of Ruth’s Table is supporting and giving space to aging and disabled artists, while Counter Collective focuses on female, non-binary, and trans lens based artists. This intergenerational show gave space literally and figuratively to artists so often on the outskirts of the traditional art world. And now, you can hear from some of those artists in their own words below.

This project was shot, directed, and edited by me, Riley.
